Re: Alternative Voting system
Surely if the problem is as described, and there is 'mass ragequit' then it's not down to individual opinions anymore.

Re: Alternative Voting system
Well a little bumpy here:
First, I myself consider the 0.60 undervote enough for Chaos (it's played 2 times a week atm.). Primary reason why I removed Airfight from the map rotation was the nuke laming and the map didn't receive a good reception.
However, recently (last week specially), with the legions of Racers make AS barely played (speaking of the times when the ratio is balanced i.e 1.00 vs 1.00), however in some cases the votes for AS and RACE are nearly same (like RACE winning by 1 - 2 votes). I think that a good way out of this would be selecting several maps with good gameplay (say Proseidon, TC, etc.) and give them 1.20 or 1.40 votes for the case when there were 0 out of 4 AS maps played. Something in manner that when people are breaking RACE chain, they won't try it on worse maps like Damnation or overplayed BallX. Also maps being marked with permament 0.60 penalty (i.e LegoWars (shit map), Junkyard (poor reception, because it chockes even on small teamstacks) are practically not played at all, so I'd increase it a bit to 0.80.

Re: Alternative Voting system
Chaos can be 0.4 votes. There's no reason it should ever be played.
Rest sounds good.

Re: Alternative Voting system
I wonder what would happen to the server playercount if voting was completely disabled and the server picked an AS/Race map at random every map... =)

Re: Alternative Voting system
Say, a bunch of AS players want a gg in Proseidon, and it would pick unarmed Derby ... rageworthy, eh?blOb wrote:I wonder what would happen to the server playercount if voting was completely disabled and the server picked an AS/Race map at random every map... =)

Ah yes, didn't consider derby. Rageworthy indeed.
On the topic of shitmaps, a few have been mentioned numerous times in this thread; maybe we should have some sort of poll on whether they should be deleted from the server? Chaos for example, why even bother making it 0.4 or even 0.0001, just delete the farking thing.

I'd stop playing here if you deleted Chaos.

Re: Alternative Voting system
Twice a week for Chaos isn't that much in comparison to some other races or... BalluX.
Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...
