I've noticed whatever was played last, therefore what shows as default in the vote menu, is almost always what wins, unless someone votes tactically before the end of the game for a different game type.

Exactly. I'm quite sure people often can't be bothered clicking on that list and selecting the other game type.. By the time they've chosen their map in the other game type there are already 5 votes for the current game type.

Solving this by always showing the other gametype would be a bit weird too, I think the best solution is to create a custom voting UI where the two gametypes are shown next to each other, but I don't think Izu or another coder could be bothered with that

There appears to be a trend to mass quit when AS (and probably certain RACE maps too (Derby, Blazing)) get voted around after 23:00, leaving (nearly) empty server.

Which however makes me wonder if the server should be restricted only to RACE mode after 23:00, or simply leave that be.
