Ok for the windows server... where have you this server ?

At home or do you planed to pay for one server ? OVH ?

Erm - Well I was told it is all free - and you don't have to give me some space lol. But it is very kind of you to offer.

So what happens if I host it from home? Cost? Dose it require a certain amount of inet speed? Dose it use allot of inet speed? - Any other questions I missed that I should have asked?

I see that OVH link is red but the others arn't - So I take it you meant you can colour links?

Sure, you can host @home !!

But there are 3 things to remember !

1. If you want your forum can be acceded over the internet and not only in local, you must open the port 80 on your modem/router.

2. If you stop your computer, forum will be not avaliable.

3. if there are many users, you may not have enough bandwith.

1st a forum take not so much inet speed.. 128K upload its ok (pictures may be slowww)
2nd the server is free... you have your pc at home...
3rd if you want a ""REAL"" name on the net you have to register a dynamic DNS.. you connection at home is changing the IP adresse every days... with a small software you can update your dns name if your ip change... a very simple is : dyndns.org... you have your name ""http://cartoon.dyndns.org"" and if you ip change, the small software will update on the redirection automaticali.. its also free...

Okay I have decided I can't host from my computer + at my home the Inet is very slow :S
[I'm currently on holiday in London where the inet is 20 meg!]

So hosting on the internet - How much dose it cost? - Any free alts?
