You can't heal over the challenge mode HP cap though.

I like the fact of getting rewarded for kills, maybe a thawing reward would be interesting too. Thaw streak, you get the G28 ;) ...
I normally donate KS1, but I hate when there is no one to donate to, I loose the KS the next round. I earned it, why loose it?
Maybe would be fair that the KS works for 1 round only. After all, when some experienced player has a KS3 as plasma the other team does not often survive the following rounds. It becomes: "run if you can" round...
Maybe instead of loosing the KS, it could be donated to a low player of the same team after the round.

Just out of curiosity
Q: Can you throw such a gun such that someone picks it?

Can't throw weapons in Freon. It would allow donation abuse, whereby a player donates a KS2 and the recipient passes it to a stronger player.

How about if you kill someone with a KS weapon, you get it yourself until you die.

Someone claiming a level 2 or a level 3 would become a prime target, rather than someone to avoid, and would die faster.

Then a good player gets a KS3 weapon, nothing unlike it is already.

At least they change hands, and the 'weaker' players have a chance of seeing one from behind rather than down the barrel.

Besides, me, dying to giZmo or you?

All that's going to mean is that Killstreak weapons stay in the game longer and have even more prevalence among good players. I'm all for giving some kind of benefit for killing high-value targets (because they're holding a streak) but I don't see how it can be safely implemented without either just +1ing the user's Streak level, giving the user the streak level minus one or implementing a score-based killstreak system.

Well my least favoured suggestion is to give them fixed ammo, that carries over the rounds, and is not increased by kills or berserk.

Pretty much the only way I dominate with PC is to slap berserk on and fire like a menace. The ammo goes up faster than it goes down and cooldown isn't an issue since you showed me the reload trick.

Effectively limiting their use to one-two rounds this way. Makes claiming them at the right time more important than just mashing I as soon as you see KS3
