French VS English

Post by bOnO » Fri 05 Jul , 2013 3:28 pm

An interesting article from the BBC with arguments for and against the English language taking over the French one.

Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...

Always felt that one could retain separate culture without the inclusion of a national language. Look at Britain vs America.

A global language would be better for the world. Whatever it is.

Well this "competition" sucks when you're in France and can't speak French or not fluent in German. They don't know English very much outside the tourist zones

They want it or not, we're using more and more English words (see the box "English words (some made up) used by French youth" near the end) and sometimes it has nothing to do with their original meaning. They try to impose the French words but it's "longer" to pronounce or it is not natural.

I would also be for one international language used everywhere (at least in the bigger cities of the world). But I wouldnt drop local languages as they make the folklore more interesting and will prevent the world from turning into one big 'murica http://www.damnlol.com/i/988670c41f0149 ... d72bfe.jpg
