Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
Yea, Blackhawk is an good example, lets take Blackhawk cause the stalling is the opposite way and ppl would have to play the full 40 minutes for nothing.
So on the next weekend, when Blackhawk is played and Im there, I can just take the tank hide it in the attackers spawn so the defenders cant even destroy it? Im sure that if the people have nothing to do for 20 or even 40 minutes they will leave one after another until you have an empty server (unless I get kickvoted before).

Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
Ah I was waiting for this. Ok here we go.
Should stalling be allowed? In my opinion No, especially not in OLDz because I love OLDz. Shock horror.
But being able to ruin a map by taking away one vehicle just proves how shit that map is. What would have happened If I would not have occupied the Ion tank? You would have watched Markus camping in base for 20 minutes killing everything that moves. Would that be enjoyable for you Baby? I don't think so. Would that have been enjoyable for anyone else? I don't think so. And don't start with: But people voted the map etc. I don't think anyone voted the map knowing it would be one person camping with the ion tank, if yes feel free to ban me (as long as its not perma ban
).
So yes I occupied the tank with the intention to let the attackers do the first objective, yes only the FIRST objective, the rest could actually be quite enjoyable.

I'm going to add this to sentitelFallen wrote:So calm your tits

No OK, I think that some level of hamper should be there. If you render map unfinishable for the attackers or with clear intention to ruin that game on normal oldz map, then you should get regular 3-day.

Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
@Fallen: The map is ruined either way. With Ion tank its really hard for the attackers, without ion tank for just one team (!) it also sucks balls.
And yes, I would have kept playing and gone camping as well. I dont get to play OLDZ maps often, even if its just camping your ass off, its something different to all those AS/RACE maps that keep getting played over and over and over. If I dont enjoy something I either quit the game, go spec for that session or vote something else and hope more ppl also vote but I dont go ahead and stall the game just because I dont want to play the map. I dont know what the other players thought but there were several complaints about you taking the tank.
Now lets turn things around. Was this map enjoyable for the players when you stalled the game? I dont think so. Did you enjoy the 7 minutes sitting in the corner with the tank? If you did then you must have a really exciting life.
And taking away my "because people voted argument" is stupid because exactly thats what Im trying to point out here: When people vote a map (even if you dont like it) deal with it and dont be an asshole.
I dont want to have you banned or anything, you are usually a fair, decent and frequent player, Im just asking for an overall opinion on such cases (thats why I didnt mention your nickname in my original post).

Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
Excuse me, but I still dont understand how taking the ion tank and not using it on CatRaisTrack is stalling the game? Its not attackers vehicle, not a key vehicle, it is used to camp and stop attackers, so if anything using the tank is stalling the game. Map can be played and accomplished without its use, besides defenders still do have the higher ground and and Hellbenders to camp in.

Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
Defense advantage is utterly overwhelming on CatRace, so if I were in Baby's position I wouldn't have bothered saying anything. I've actually used no rules (on either admins or players) to try to compensate attack's disadvantage before.

No, I dont think it should be allowed thats why I made this topic in the first place. But if it helps to prove my point, I can be an asshole too.Socio wrote:Well, that depends on you, does your own player ethic says its okay to take a key vehicle and completly ruin the map for your team?
And ion tank on CatRaisTrack is not a key vehicle, so the map can be played and accomplished without its use, defenders still do have the higher ground and and Hellbenders to camp in.
If you remove the Ion Tank for BOTH teams, I would agree with you, but in this case on Team had no IonTank (and one player less) while the other team still had their tank and made use of it on their turn. So the IonTank pretty much is the most important vehicle in this map.
Besides, Im not talking about CatRaceTrack in particular or Fallen in particular. I merely say that if people vote for any map everyone should either get along with it, leave, spec or vote something else. And that should also apply for OLDZ and not just for AS and RACE.

Re: Opinions on stalling matches in OLDZ
Baby, trust me I probably enjoy OLDz more than you do. And yes I agree if someone does not like the map they should quit/spec. However I think Aza summed it up pretty well: "I would also note that with the ion tank in play, the map becomes almost impossible, so I don't even have sympathy for the team hampering argument. If anything, neutralising the tank balances the map." I think I did most people a favour, and no I don't think I made it enjoyable for the other people on the server but I saved them 13 minutes of suffering. And thanks my life is exciting enough
Yet again there were 2 people complaining: You and Markus, Markus just said in this minute that it was no problem for him anymore and he doesn't care. And considering votings: I bet 95% of the people that voted the map voted it because because it said RACE and the name included CAT. Reason enough for many to vote it.
