Then stop caring about your skill, is that hard? Since it's never going to up implemented in a balancer why would you care?SageOfSixPaths wrote:people (including me) do ragespec if the teams are overwhelmingly unfair, only because of the skill system..

Re: Skill system
The only reason it's not in the balancer is because Izumo has far more important matters than LDG to deal with atm and I'm not really comfortable writing code he's going to look at later.

Re: Skill system
If you guys want to, I can implement hiding on the skill ladder webpage as well along with "not receiving your skill info if it's hidden". That way, your skill is hidden for good, and you can quit bragging here on the forum.SageOfSixPaths wrote:I agree with Doc Pinky.
Why not disable the skill system until the balancer is complete? Because the reason for the implementation of the skill system was for the balancer..Or hide individual skills altogether and just show the average team skills that way people will see how "equal" the teams are?
And robot is right too, people (including me) do ragespec if the teams are overwhelmingly unfair, only because of the skill system..
As said before, I'm using the % of active players hiding their skill as a reception, currently it's around ~ 11%.

Re: Skill system
And you want the skill tab at the end of the match:
A) completely hidden
B) shows the stats, but with X.XX as skill
?

Re: Skill system
I agree. Let it silently run in the background to collect the data required for the balancer but remove every single public trace of the individual skill values (but keep the mean team skill).iRobot wrote:C)

C) is not an option. Period. Also, you didn't even hide your skill.

Re: Skill system
If you want to put a stop to all this bollocks lowskiller shit then you need to hide it for everyone.
Give me one valid reason why it should stay. Just one.
Oh and don't take the cop out 'it can help people balance', because we want the average skill left IN.

Re: Skill system
I'm seeing it this way - skill system is a feature of the game itself, not only a requirement for skill balancer (which is a long term goal): people can express their opinion by hiding their skill. If major amount of them does so (active players only) then I will consider hiding the skill for everyone. There is no other reason to keep it hidden forcibly when people can voluntarily choose if their skill is displayed or private.
Regardless, one of the requirements for a reliable skill system is for it to be taken with some seriousness.
