I can't just believe the lack of inteligence of iPhone users, who just pay more to get less. My brain cells truly can't understand why someone would pay twice more for a small phone which has even problems with multitasking even in 2014, when other platforms had proper multitasking since 2009.

I have an iPhone also Izumo However, I still use my 3G I bought like 5 years ago. Still happy with it, its a bit slow though and doesnt support whatsapp...

It lasts more than two days on my S3 with CyanogenMod 11 4.4.2.
If it lasts only 5h you should clear the cache and wipe the Dalvik cache, that helps after an update.

I haven't rooted my phone. Is that the only way to fix the problem?

I probably should have clarified that I have the US version which comes with 2gb of ram.

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act rooting is illegal in the United States except by exemption.

Anyway, clearing the cache can be done here, clearing Dalvik can not be done without being rooted; unless you are willing to factory reset your device.
