I had the same with my 4770k. With the standard thermal material at 4.2Ghz it was 80-90c. Delidded with some actually decent liquid metal in there, it's now 60-65c.
I think they just use mayonnaise in the CPUs or something. Is awful.

You don’t have to worry about that

- it’s not like AMD which had to downgrade their 1800 CPUs to 1600 CPU to sell then and forgetting to lock the extra cores
