Re: New NitroVehicles
I agree with Raven, and the problem of the ramp was easily bypassed by using the nitro. Plus the ability to use the handbrake to quickly brake and turn is part of what makes the uniqueness of the race mode. I suggest you keep the big wheels etc. for the energy scorpions.
Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...

Re: New NitroVehicles
Well the big wheels itself isn't core of the problem - the thing is that you have to adapt the various properties to them. Like if they drift too much they can just be made not to, though I was aiming for making them driftier so they are not as easy to drive, however due to poor physics of the vehicles in the UT2k4 they become uncontrollable at certain point when drifting (think UnWheel). Pehaps I make a special drifty version for Stadium Race(s) and put non-drifting elsewhere.
Handbrake is fixed.
Handbrake is fixed.

Re: New NitroVehicles
That's not the only problem, I played more time yesterday, and I'm not the only one to be really pissed off with the new handling. Why do you change something to which everybody is accustomed to? Not only the problem with the handbrake, but the behaviour on ramps is worst than before: if you don't go absolutely straight you end out of the road... Oh and please, remove the unwheel sound before we all get bleeding ears!
Moreover I don't know if you did something to the maps you converted for nv7, but I got some serious fps drops at some places for several maps (the first ramp on Borderworlds, and on Racetown too, but maybe it's just me).
To finish the "HS part": I want a NewscorpionCoaster version WITHOUT energy scorpions, I'm tired of being killed by noobs who don't want to drive because they're shit and prevent the others from trying.

So for me in TS have been all excited about it, because stän interred we slip past the target and curves, because it's just used to drive around with the hand brake. Especially you can now and then drift again and nothing else. And if you do not drift, you slide uncontrollably forward.

Re: New NitroVehicles
Reason? Making it more difficult to drive. The ramp problem is either being stuck on them when driving fast or need to go straight (doesn't have to be absolutely straight btw.), nothing in the middle, so particulary this part stays as it is (as if people don't drive like nabs it won't happen to them). It wouldn't have happened if race maps were made properly. And ok, I'll add there option to disable skidding sound/mark to the menu.bOnO wrote:That's not the only problem, I played more time yesterday, and I'm not the only one to be really pissed off with the new handling. Maps converted for nv7 have "[nv7]" at their end. Which is neither one of these two.bOnO wrote:Moreover I don't know if you did something to the maps you converted for nv7, but I got some serious fps drops at some places for several maps (the first ramp on Borderworlds, and on Racetown too, but maybe it's just me).

Might rather solve this with neutral zone around the base.

Re: New NitroVehicles
I disagree with combat on NewScorpionCoaster and Derby. The reason I removed combat from the original versions is because the race community is mostly made up of noobs, and most race maps are easy to do. When a map with some semblance of difficulty comes along, the noobs will default to fighting and camping instead. While I still hold the opinion that neither of those maps is suited for online play, I don't think adding combat to them again made any significant contribution and seems like more of a hackish method to try to keep these maps in the online rotation.Izumo_CZ wrote:ENERGY SCORPIONS!!!!!!!oneoneoneoneoneelevenbOnO wrote:To finish the "HS part": I want a NewscorpionCoaster version WITHOUT energy scorpions, I'm tired of being killed by noobs who don't want to drive because they're shit and prevent the others from trying.

Re: New NitroVehicles
Removing weapons from NewScorpionCoaster won't solve the problem; just gonna make the noobs to troll differently (like driving against people who race etc.). Thus if those cba to drive a bit a neutral zone would be just fine (in NewScorpionCoaster it would be neutral up to the ramp for 1st obj and the bridge for 2nd obj).

J-VehicleRace
In this map, the new wheels prevent you from using the elevator properly/easily. Since the new wheels were introduced, you always! slip from the elevator, no matter how you are using the elevator

Re: New NitroVehicles
Hi,
could you please re-enable NV6 until you have the problem with the elevators and fixed it?
