Damage?

For those of you who play this, what is your opinion on weapon damage? I've been considering raising it one stage, with the SAR-12 killing in four shots instead of five.

to have a good overview of all the threads i will post my complaint here:

The Fast shoot of the 'Dark Star' is really overpowered. You just need to hit the enemy three to five times and he is dead.
This leads to summa summarum about 6000dmg (today) in one game.
I'd prefer to turn its damage to 55% of what it is now

For reference, the base DPS of the Dark Star's Fast Mode is 153 (23 damage per shot, fires every 0.15 seconds) and it is a projectile weapon.

Comparisons with various instant-hit assault rifles:

S-AR 12: 200 dps (10 rounds per second at 20 dmg)
M-46 Battle Rifle: 222 (~8 rounds per second at 30 dmg)

Comparisons with other projectile weapons:

A-73 Skrith Rifle: 245 dps (~9 rounds per second at 27 dmg) with faster projectiles
ViPeR: 207 dps (~7.5 rounds per second at 31 dmg)

The attack powers up by 3 every time a soul is collected, so the max DPS of a Dark Star is:

253 dps (~7 rounds per second at 38 dmg).

That's only very slightly above the A-73's base DPS, requires 5 souls to reach and the projectiles move more slowly. The staves also have the same hipfiring radius as the other weapons, unless I'm wrong, and if I am it'll be adjusted.

Edit: Yeah, the staff hipfire is very tight and will be adjusted next I patch.
