General

Fixed deployed weapon inaccuracy issue. By that I mean that deployed weapons act the same online as they do offline. Unfortunately, after further testing, there is another bug which affects the turrets both online and offline and causes the weapons mostly to pull slightly to the left and slightly down.

The above image was taken on Highlander at FOV 1, so the chances of this piece of inaccuracy actually affecting your game is very low. The weapon only zooms to FOV 10, so in most cases it should appear perfect.

Deployed weapons now produce recoil properly.

X-83 Sniper Rifle

Altfire now causes this weapon to deploy into a stationary turret, granting recoil and fire rate bonuses.

As it's not previously been documented, the weapon special for the X-83 works like so:

Undeployed: Night Vision. Illuminates darkened areas.

Deployed: Meat Vision. I assume this is some kind of thermal scope which shows player targets in a highly visible fashion.

The target detector for the mounted X83 (dubbed Meat Vision in the code/garbled comments) functions by 'tagging' players who you have aimed at. It uses modified G5 code to get the job done. However, be advised that the target detector was scrapped when the mount was removed and will not work online.

Additionally, as we noticed in our pre-clan match trials, the rifle will blow your leg off if you attempt to fire it immediately after mounting. In order to ensure seamless functionality, I would advise adding a delay post-mount for the player's character to move backwards. We may add a deploy animation on our end to remedy this.

Thanks for the clarifications. I haven't managed to kill myself with the X83 yet, but I'll add a safety if required. I think I set the bring up time to 0.1 for the turret weapon. A deploy animation would be great, as would an undeploy animation so that Altfire can be used both to deploy and to pack up the X83.

whats the deal with the scope movement on the R78 while still and crouching its never stopping and if it is its after a few secs. I can compensate it a bit but filly zoomed is a pain :shock: whats changed?

If you got hit by a special/nade and new rounds start its resuming doing flashing screen and/or view shaking up/down.

A few people have complained about the R78, so I'll use it tomorrow and see what's going on.

E-23 ViPeR

Ammo capacity reduced to 21 from 45
Base damage of Series fire increased from 35 to 40
Base speed of Series fire increased to just below A73 speeds
Shotgun now fires 7 pellets at 20 damage each (up from 9 pellets at 15 damage each)
Solid Beam no longer pushes the enemy back
Solid Beam is now a long-ranged firemode with low recoil and lower than average damage.
ViPeR starts with 5 mags instead of 3.
These changes should restore the ViPeR back to being a weapon which is effective at all ranges at the cost of a low mag size and having to select firemodes.

@aza: i have noticed that the ViPeR uses 2 shots in the clip in the primary rifle mode, seeing that 45 is an odd number, the player would have to manually reload each time the clip runs out which could be a hassle to many players during a firefight. if you were to increase or decrease the clip size by one, that would be great.
