Getting teamswitched

Post by corinne h » Wed 04 Apr , 2012 4:52 pm

If I have just joined a game and I get teamswitched after someone RQ's, then I don't particularly mind. If I have been playing since the game began and have been contributing to my team's efforts, then getting teamswitched halfway through the second round is VERY ANNOYING and usually will lead ME to instantly RAGEQUIT! =SS fuu fts (OK, or maybe ragespec)

How does the teamswitch/balance thing work? is it just random, or is there some logic behind how it picks its unfortunate victim? Can it be altered so that the longer you have been playing, the less likely you are to get swapped?

Thanks?

It checks whoever has been on the server the shortest amount of time. You can see these timers by looking at the F1 menu.

If everyone is on equal footing, I believe it picks the first name in the list of everyone else, with the first name being the first into the server.
At least, I assume this is why it will often choose Azareal as opposed to someone else, I know he loads the maps quickly due to being a hoarder of UT2004 related shit, any colour any shape.

The SSD is actually more of a contributing factor towards my fast load time, and I only hoard decent shit.
