Dragonfly is fine, shields are not.

Rather than drive smart and think of avoidance, and showing awareness, people just press their shield button and its a case of:

Bombs? fts

Well, you are usually in my team and covering me, but maybe you were hunting me sometimes and could see that I prefer to maneuver and save shield for critical situations. But that does not helps actually because you have only three shields for accidential attack of a DF (while first is used at start so only two shields actually). At this situation shield quantity is much more important than is totaly useless 15 seconds time. And atm its only two shields actually to except two unmaneuverous attacks while there are tens of such DF attacks when you cant outmaneuver.

Idea: make Scorpions have 50 seconds of total shield that can be used at any matter but switching on and off (maybe limited by a 5 seconds minimum to prevent of abusing multi switch and 20 maximum to save it for noobs) so noob players will use that as it is now while pros will use like 10 at start and 9 times by 5 only farther.

Once more: 50 seconds of total shield timer, can be turned on, can be turned off after 5 seconds, will be turned off automatically after 20 seconds. And to satisfy Robot, after turned off 5 seconds locked from on.
bOnO: Calypto, and you plan to correct all the phrases of everybody? We are not all English pros you know...
PALADIN: Aza, please continue correcting my phrases, thank you for that teaching.

Dragonflies need to be equalised across the three maps.

StadiumRace: Ground vehicles now have no counter (seems they're immune to quantum) and the map is held forever unless at least 3 players use spam shield -> autowin. Dragonfly too strong.

SnowRace: Error in one spawn (red's) is causing dragonflies to fall and blue gets an easier spawn. Dragonfly fine due to cover / terrain based map

Sunshine: Nerf to spawntime, the addition of a no dragonfly version to stop the tears from people who can't play the game, shielding and the fact that hellbender gunners are finally learning to play the game is resulting in Dragonflies becoming patently useless on this map. There's no cover and if two people actually shoot at you, you are destroyed before you can come into contact with the enemy.

In Stadium Race the idea rather is that Dragon Fly is not supposed to be countered from the ground, and racers are supposed to dodge the bombs. Secondly, 3 players spamming shields isn't autowin, should the pilot pay attention to the other players too and have them use the shield early too.

In Sunshine, the dragonfly is rather to counter the solobenders. You're rightfully pwned if they aren't solo, and shields are needed for the beams. So I take it as the tears are coming from solobenders. The only thing that can be done, is that DragonFly can have invisible power for bender maps.

If the dragonfly is solely to counter solobenders in a map where you can be hit from miles away by twin beams from the other, non-solobenders something is wrong. Benders have too many advantages, you take a ton of damage coming into range, they put a shield up meaning you need 5 timed hits to destroy them and you die getting out of range - and that's just for one bender. With two it becomes impossible. Benders should either have a projectile weapon (shock cannon) to remove the 100% ez hit rate or lose the shield, because at the moment it's almost a complete waste of time picking up a dragonfly on Sunshine at all.

If people are teaming up and utilising the hellbenders weaponry, then the Dragonfly is doing it's job, even when it's empty.

You don't balance the dragonfly around being a killing machine, in all honesty.

This goes up and down lately, last game of Sunshine I played was pure air domination, 0 objectives. People started calling me names as they couldnt do shit when their Solobenders and Scorpions got blown up by my delicious bombs. But no one of them thought: "hey, maybe we should somehow team up".
I dont get your complains Aza, if they are starting to team up to counter Dragonflies we should accept that those brains are finally showing up some activity and are playing the game in a better way (ok
Also it kinda sounds like you are going from "Solobenders? Team up!" fts to "Twinbeams? Teamwork!" Z=

It's fine that they team up, and I don't expect to rape everything. After all, I do play the game on the maps that aren't Dragonfly maps and die just as I should. What I have a problem with is how the Dragonfly goes from lolrape against a poor team to being completely useless if players actually decide to shoot you. When you factor in that Dragonflies go down in two salvos from paired benders (which always happens lately), said benders can't miss because their weapon is hitscan, the shield is an absolutely massive boost in defense (something like 5x more durable with a shield on) and there's no full cover to use to get into range, the recent games of Sunshine I've played are impossible to have any effect in even for a supposedly "good" pilot. While it's great that they're finally making the choice to shoot Dragonflies rather than die like fools, it's not so great that they can't miss.

Sunshine needs a new hellbender which refuses to leave the base without two players.

After much pissing, whining and bitching on Snowrace, I decided to play a game of Sunshine as a gunner. 12 a side, 5 people in base with all benders missing, and I was the only one shooting the Dragonfly. Of his 9 player deaths, I was responsible for 7 and one came because I was driving and not shooting.

Dragonfly whine isn't going to stop as long as raisers in general are shit, but we can at least try to take the noobs to water, even if getting them to drink is unlikely.

It's a pity of every bomb that doesn't slice a solo driver face into million pieces. I think the dragonfly itself is enough to counter solos, for now.
