Arguing that banning homosexual slurs would eventually lead to all insults being banned is actually quite a strange argument. I've no intention of seeing LDG become an outreach of the Privilege-Checker Brigadiers and social justice warriors, so let's be clear: it would stop there. I just don't see the problem with banning something which is anti-homosexual because it causes offense. According to the rules, insults already aren't tolerated. Should the goal not to be to keep the servers as clean as possible?

Additionally, why ban racist words and allow homosexual slurs? The issue is the same with both: they reach out to the oppressions of the past, saying: To be (black/gay/lesbian/Asian/whatever) is a bad thing to be. Fuck, shit, crap, idiot, maggot, fucker, tosser, wanker, etc have none of the same connotations and are perfectly valid insults. "Faggot" and its variants, I no longer feel are on the same level. I won't weigh in on "cunt".

@Izumo: If we want to go into the term "goy", it is a word used by Jews to refer to Gentiles (those who are not Jews). When used by someone who believes in a Zionist conspiracy, it means that the target of the word is perceived by the speaker as being compliant with the imagined wishes of Zionists. However, about one in ten thousand people actually know this, and I just use the word because it has a good sound to it. That of which one is ignorant cannot cause offense.

What a mess.You know me and my friends been calling each other fags for over 40 yrs. We never meant it as an insult.Or something bad towards the Gays.Its just a saying like alot of stuff.Only time it was used is when someone killed the other person.Its not like someone just came out and said your a faggot in the wrong way.Its not much different the Fuck You/FU after you get killed.My feeling have never been hurt.Its a game.We are from all different parts of the world.Not everthing you think is bad is.Hey im an Oldfag.Does that sound bad ? I'm aware of the intent behind your usage of the word, but the word itself contains the connotations regardless of that. People still get banned for using the word "n***a" even as a term of endearment.

While I know you are not trying to harm anyone, the word itself has cruel nature behind it and can have a lot of meaning for some. For a future reference, please avoid using any discriminatory/derogatory remarks and you'll be fine.

I would say the goal is to keep the server clean, but not define it as "as clean as possible", because I rather imagine 24/7 police on that. So no I don't like where this is going and am strictly against such when we start banning for something that is considered fine over the internet around us (homosexual slurs - such as "gay - doesn't work" etc., seen that on many sites and noone said a thing) - and such is absolutely out of a question when such move has been made on a complaint by a signle person. If "fag" would not be considerable then I would imagine that when "fag" became a trigger for sentitel, complaints would be received, rather than it being used normally (including admins me & Socio). For a reference, some frequently used CZ insults are mental illnesses - and if somebody got banned over that, everyone would just , just as I do now - it would be pure exaggeration just as this is. It's the similar thing as in this topic (admin forum: http://www.ldg-gaming.eu/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1582).

There is a big difference between fag(s), faggot fagged and fagot
each with its own description.

faggot is pointing to: "Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man"
fag more or less to, but as third(dictionary) "Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man."

so what? its just a word. "you're a faggot/fag" has a way different meaning
