So uh, any other scenarios where the minigun dominates that doesn't involve packing your entire team into a small area where you can't get away?
On the middle range while on a completly flat field with no shelter.

Actually, if you get hit is very rare you survive. Deployed is not as effective as the heavy machine gun. But even next to walls some bullets will pass through them.. Overall they are difficult to circumvent... even is difficult to peak to see their position.

XMV also governs in Toy story and other maps besides highlander. As calypto said, when other team members support is really hard.

Those maps are probably all shit, because good maps don't allow you to set up with an XMV without getting flanked.

Toys is just a bad example in general as it suffers from the high ground vs low ground spawn point situation. Be it the top of the stairs vs bottom of the stairs or kitchen worktops vs kitchen floor, one team is always gonna get shafted.

I don't like it, but I suppose I'll have to live with it. I won't be taking up your offer of trying out the weapon however, Greed, I have my principles.

You do realize how ridiculous that sounds, right? You claim OP but won't even test it yourself out of principle? I'm pretty sure we'd have a much different BW if Az employed such practices.

Eh, there used to be lots of stuff I wouldn't touch in PvP just on principle.

Don't get me wrong, I have used the XMV whilst using random weapons. I am fully aware of its strengths and weaknesses.

You not using it just contributes to the problem. Weapon is not tested as it should be, the opinion of the community is based only on my performance, which is not enough for any kind of statistics. Besides, most players find my playstyle irritating no matter what i use.

Greed is right, XMV is crap for the most part. It's good for making surprise kills in the first round when people are not aware of you, but after that they learn quickly not to show up in the same place, and you just keep randomly dying. It does make instakills, but to be able to do that you need 2 things: 1) enemy team should not be aware of your location and weapon and 2) you have to know exactly where they are. This almost never happens. Not to me at least, I just played Asbestos, did a couple nice mega kills in the first round (everyone was like "so op"), and then we lost the next 2 and I had to switch to Z250 to start winning again.
