It's my job to ensure that weapons are used in an appropriate style. If a sniper rifle is powerful enough at close range that some players are choosing to play the game off it (as the LS14 Double Fire was), I have to do something about that. Whether or not a player chooses to use a sniper rifle at close range is of little interest to me; all I care about is that it not be effective.

Azarael wrote:The only reason Double Fire LS14 Hip ever existed to begin with is because the LS14 has two different modes (SRS-type and sniper-type) on one weapon and I'd failed to accomodate for this. It should be simple logic that a sniper rifle is not a close combat weapon.
LS was single fire of 1 shot in the beginning. It was very accurate, and you needed to repeatedly shoot with the possibility of shooting as fast as your finger was. Then it became automatic the primary with a nice rate of shooting, but no accuracy... Double barrel was the same always with double damage, half the fire rate and non automatic. Furthermore was the only weapon to penetrate walls besides the railgun, which made it really good, and by then no one used it.... besides me.
Now some users came fond of it and then the nerf.... jumping offset :S... As I said previously there will always be a weapon that is better for a specific situation , and taking the natural advantages of them just ends in the user to change to the new "best weapon"... You want strategical balance? I select LS in specific circumstances (map wise). LS is very good in middle size to long range maps when there are high number of enemies in the same region: Example DC storm map or Aztec.
But it sucks in long range ones as Rail or Free Tibet, where is too inaccurate to hit someone (maybe here Double barrel is the choice). Close combat just when there is no other choice or no time to change weapon. But the advantage of LS relies in that you are able to defend yourself when the opponent approaches...with the other snipers you just do not have the amount of fire power...just pack and run far where you may shoot using your scope. Any assault weapon overpowers a sniper in middle to long distance, the only exception is the LS.
Have you seen someone using LS in a 1 to 1 map? double barrel? I don't think so many will dare... shotgun territory... fuck_yeah

In that lies another issue, SRS900 is better at sniping than the sniper rifles.

These conqueror nerfs are unjust, the weapon was only just useable. The arming delay will kick it back into the void.

A number of people had a different opinion. Direct impacts with the Conqueror will still cause the detonation of the grenade at close range.

You should know better than listening to the tears of people who die to weapon. But it's no matter, I'll just swap back to the other useful KS2's.

If anything lower the damage, the grenades just bouncing around uselessly is of no benefit to anyone. Arm delay is the worst nerf you could have given this.

The argument given was that the Conqueror obscured the HAMR completely.

I disagree given that HAMR's strength is obscene damage when you direct hit and the knockback when you don't. Also the deploy function is good, which has been buffed too.

Conqueror now is just a glorified BORT that is no good for close range. Not to mention the speed nerf will make it even more difficult to hit people with the direct impact.
