Depends your aiming skill, I'm sure you see it not crappy because you have an impeccable aim that not many of us have.
With my aiming skill:
MRS-138 ( weapon in my standard load out until last nerf) was 2-3 aimed shots to kill, and 4 hip shots to kill. This meant with a single load, you were able to kill 1 to 2 opponents at short range. This also meant you are able to defend yourself against assault weapons, having advantage at shorter range, but being in disadvantage at middle range. Reasonable!
After the nerf the weapon became: 4-5 aimed shots to kill, and no hip possibility for kill. This means you were not able to compete with any other weapon at any range. You had more chances with a Pistol than with a MRS. It is absolutely useless in this state.

I am not sure how is the current status, but I'll try it ASAP.

and yes, I agree, MK781 secondary is OP...One discharge, and a single shot suppressed to kill.. Repeat..

I've just tried it and it actually deals ~100 damage per shot at mid range and 160 at close range when aimed.

Not been able to check yet, but does this mean the zoom is now a bit further reaching? the zoom on many snipers is comedically low.

No, adjusting the minimum is the default distance you see when you first scope.

erm then its not anymore correct to call it a sniper? I thought a sniper weapon is meant to zooooooooooooom

If he's done what I think it still does zoom. It's just you can't use the sniper very well at close range because the zoom will be great.

Like srs-900? It seems that you'll have to take the shot from hip... or use R9 or Deermaster , Anyway the most snipers with zoom take too much time to aim for you not to be able to when someone is getting close or engaging... I'll have to check it later

Reason for change is what?

Sniper rifles had too many disadvantages. No hipfire, high aim time and were forced only to work at medium and long range. On top of that, ARs could cover this range with less effort and greater safety because they retained hipfire..
