leading to donation being the dominant option for KS1 across even the players who were intended to benefit from it.
This is not the problem of the donation system (which I personally miss a lot, sometimes it's fun to share weapons with other people), this is the problem of ks1. These weapons are still quite useless, the flamethrower's fire rate is so low that it can be directly countered with mars2 for example; g5 has 4 ammo, etc. They are basically normal weapons with their own weaknesses.
Currently when I get ks1 I usually claim g28 which doesn't really help me but at least it doesn't hurt as well, because when I play with something I'm already used to, switching to g5 or flamethrower is a level down to me. Maybe things have been changed, I'm not sure, last time I used g5 it was weeks ago.

In any game, it is better to use donation on KS1 simply because the end result, from a strategic point of view, is exactly the same as claiming a KS2: One member of your team gets a KS2. That that member is not you doesn't matter, the point is your team has that extra power and you only paid 4 kills for it instead of 9.
KS1 is a dumping ground for weapons which break the gameplay if they're in the normal slots - I feel it's obvious why the flamer does this. The G5 was, in its current state, once a normal weapon - then the entire server started to whore it.
For players capable of reaching KS2 with consistency, G28s become a more obvious choice.

We don't have any donation right now. Even if I want to donate ks1, which doesn't give the team any strategic benefits, because it will most likely be received by some lower-skilled guy, I still can't do it.

Donation was a KS1. Its effect was to give the player on your team whose net is closest to zero (and who doesn't already have a killstreak) a KS2. Or are you suggesting raw donations of KS1? Because low skilled players only need to make a 2 kill streak to get KS1 anyway. It's not necessary.

I remember that. But then the things have been changed and a donation gave your teammate the same ks level you spent on it, i. e. ks1->ks1, ks2->ks2. Why can't we have this one?

Nobody used it. That's why it was replaced with skill-related KS thresholds. I'm sure you can understand why nobody used it, since all the major advantage of spinning KS1s into KS2s evaporated and only the altruism element existed.

So if nobody used it, nothing will change if you bring it back, right?

If you want it that badly, I can look for the donation code. I have no issue if you want to give your KSes to other people.

Well yeah I think I need it. I could say it before but I thought there was a reason behind this change.

Removing unused options, especially if I suspect they're weak, is still a reason. Just saying. Anyway, the donation code was just commented out. I'll push it in the next update, I've already booted everyone off the servers once tonight.
