Nova souls vs dark souls

Post by Nuclearbass » Mon 23 Jan , 2012 12:39 am

Hey i had the idea to compare nova's effect when you gain souls with dark's one and ... it's pretty unfair !

Dark's souls collecting grants you increased damages until you die, whatever you do full life or not
Nova's soul grants you vampirism but to the occuring round's max health limit and that's the problem

when i can surprise enemies (most of time, i'm full health) i can't get any benefits from the nova !
can't you raise the vampirism health limit to boost limit ?

That would lend itself to some pretty ridiculous play, i.e. popping off a slow charge then fleeing until you hit a massive HP value. I consider Vampirism in most cases a stronger effect, because gaining HP (as opposed to dealing damage) is stronger against less skilled players.

Basically you want nova to be buffed only because you use it.

Not really Calypto, i want it to be buffed just because I think there's a unbalancing between those 2 guns that makes me think sometimes "take the dark ! you'll deal 90 @ full souls !"

So you'll let that effect unused when full health ? (Considering that a skilled player will use medic nades to get full health when you're in a safe place)

In my opinion, a player with a Nova Staff should not take medic grenades. Having the staff on prevents you from having to waste time running off to a safe place to drop your medic grenades when you can just sucker someone in the back with Slow Charge and get health that way. :P

Yeah but vampirism doesn't grant enough health to get back at full health when ended a fight
(imagine that you got 34health at the end of a fight... go get some health with vampirism without being killed... GL !)
I take medic nades to avoid loosing my souls, you saw it yesterday, that allows me to be angel 1-3times per game.

I'm taking some other nades just in small maps, because of spam.

You forgot the fire mode with full souls which is much better than the Dark Star special.
