As said the points for objectives were not removed and are just based on the maps. Probably the stock maps will have the points "funky".
For the tactics, while it's stupid to just plain run to the obj into hordes of enemies, it's on the other hand not true that skilled players only clear the area. Assault is not a team death match, it's a gametype to make the objectives, and it's not true that skilled players in general don't do objectives. Look at Socio or remember when Calum played? They are / were doing objectives. Sure the NET for the attacking round won't be as fancy. But we're playing on time, not NET. Regardless of that, we're a public server, so whatever your fancy NET is, if you go on 1on1 vs pro player, you'll still get owned like 22 - 2 (kinda also judging based on your relation towards the Minigun). In fact, the reasons why I excluded attacking round for stat tracking (and with next update scoreboard will only show DEATHS / NET for the period when you were defending, the "two columns" is not looking very well and it also won't tempt that much) is that it would obviously motivate to farm the attacking round, doing the objective is many cases will only remain with partial progress and ends with your death (i.e the window to make obj is too short) and to reduce the impact of stacked teams when you go after the objectives aggressively, which results in imprecise tracking.
As for the farming, when you are clearing the area, YOU are the one who get the most time to advance on the objective, and also the one likely to make some progress - and it's not true in most cases that your lifespan is just as same as for others. They in most cases won't even reach the objective and you are the one who can time getting on the objective the best. If the objective doesn't get done then you're effrots to clean the area are useless. And of course, defenders can sometimes position between you and the objective, leaving only the noobs on you and killing the noobs on your team themselves (which de facto is also farming, but backed up by the fact you're doing actual goal, while the attacker is rendered useless), such place is for instance in Damnation, the first objective. So don't really get surprised why you, and only you, get accused of farming. Just would note that of course there are situations where defenders can farm, usually when the teams are stacked, or when your skill is above all the players in the other team.
Of course, people can play and have fun the way they like (see Marouq) but the accusations / responses will come to you then (n00bs NO FARMING ._.).
