Demo recording
Does someone know a good way to record the LDG-Games or parts of them in video with sound?

Fraps.
Or just record a demo and capture the audio seperately from your sound card, then merge.

Demos have audio and support direct conversion to .avi.

Re: Demo recording
When playing, type 'demorec' into the console, and 'stopdemo' in the console when you're finished.
The video will be found above in the community section.

Re: Demo recording
that function is uber slow depends on what resolution you're using.Azarael wrote:Demos have audio and support direct conversion to .avi.
Farps is kinda working but is resource consuming, EATING HDD space not mention the fps recording cap
If you want to do it properly use a external PVR recorder (with dual screen in clone mode)
like the Hauppauge HD PVR to record in full hd w/out lag and good FPS

Re: Demo recording
Yepp Fraps eats HDD. 2 Years ago i recordet a UT-Session (60 Minutes Resulution 1680 X 1050 60 fps Full-size), that recordet File cost 300 GB HDD Space. For this you need a Raid 0 (Softwareraid is enough) or a fast SSD.

Re: Demo recording
Fraps has to record with huge filesize since it doesn't waste processing ability on compression - you can do that afterwards in moviemaker or similar software. It still makes you lag like a bitch though. This is alleviated somewhat if you set the affinities of UT2004 and Fraps to different cores, assuming you've got multiple.
Demorec isn't perfect either - you'll need to change a line in the UT2004.ini to get more than 30 FPS demos, and your first person weapon will be invisible. When demos are exported to .avi, the generated file does not have sound, and for some reason, may not play at 1 second per second. (Random speed increase)
Ironically, the most feasible way to get a proper playback is probably to Fraps your demorec played by UT (after removing the 30 FPS limit). Still won't show a weapon though.
