Donations in general

Post by Skaldy » Sun 30 Jun , 2013 12:45 pm

A few questions:

1) Searching for "VIP" here finds some forum posts that say VIP status is €10 and above, while another says VIP status is admin discretion only - which is it?

2) What are the exact benefits for the different donation levels of €5-€100 per month? (other than warm tingly feelings of honesty & satisfaction!). While I totally agree there should be no in-game boosts, are there really enough other features or advantages to get us clamouring to sign up? For example, I like the proposed +50% vote weighting increase.

3) If I started donating, It would irk me that I might often be stuck spectating for some time, while non-donators hog all the slots at peak times. Has there ever been consideration of a "count_me_in" command or something, which swaps a spectating donator into the game, at the start of the next match, at the expense of a (low-skill or high-ping) non-donator? Or would that just be too evil ?!

TIA.

1) It was at admins discretion in the past (server regulars), but it was solely changed for donating 10E / month.

2) There is no difference in the amount, you'll get the advantages for 10E / mointh. If you wish to donate more, that's up to you. Current advantage is private chat and increased vote weight. Another one in the works is that EFR for donors will work in peak hours as well.

3) Currently there are no V.I.P. slots. We can't allow kicking non-donating players and especially the BW server has already maximum slots in which the game remains playable. We didn't discuss it yet, so it might change, but the solution must remain a friendly towards non-donating players (i.e not kicking or limiting them).

EDIT: Wiped nonrelated private issues.
