Butcher: It gives me no pleasure to make such a widely gameplay-affecting change especially when the game (before the new weapons) was running quite smoothly in terms of balance anyway, but the idea of expanding hipfire was being defeated before. If you have simple death messages on you can see whether someone used sights or hipfire to kill you, and I'm afraid what I mostly saw was holding down Fire without sights. The idea of the expanding conefire is that you fire a number of shots, wait for the wildness to decline and start again, thus reducing your DPS output compared to sights, but gaining a better view and faster movement / improved movement options.

Since this change affects all weapons in a particular class equally, any balance issues resulting from it will be between all weapons in one class and should be more obvious.

Hipfire seems really noticable on the SMG's, which are close range spam machines. (Almost no damage over range)

Nah, in all honesty I'm displeased because there most likely will be new balance issues arising from this.

i got my net back today... it seems all weird..viper is fucked as its now like srs 600? and weapons also..seems thats the change with hipfire? ;'D'D

There will be no reversion, only tuning to make sure hipfire actually has a use. Players using the UT2004 crosshairs instead of the hipfire expansion drawing ones will suffer, though.

I took them off because they distracted me... ended not aiming at the enemy but to where the crosshair expanded to... I'll set them on again to see if there is any change...

Just a quick feedback on the new hipfire, I'm finding it difficult to get used to.
Okay I use hipfire a lot, but who cares, sue me.

Killing people is way too hard now without crouching and crawling.

Iron sights is way too restrictive, you cant dodge jump and it just gets in the way.
Needs to be reverted asap, it's too much - lots of other people feel the same way.

Going to piss off a lot of people if it stays.
