Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
Right, it was my homage to Doom 2, its meant to be classic and not too fancy. Doesn't help that it makes the ideas for alt fire pretty limited though. :p

Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
Maybe you can just move the switching animation from weapon function to alt fire?

I'm pretty darn sure it's attached to the "change firemode" key, not the special function key. Though I suppose it's possible it's on both.

Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
I'm making this post mostly from memory, so please correct me if I start spewing nonsense. #YOLO
With regards to the current dual wield setup for the majority of pistols:
The major recent changes overall did the following:
-Most of the "weaker" pistols, intended to be used dual-wield, now give you two pistols for a single sidearm slot, and are dual-wielded by default. You can't single-wield these without throwing one of them, and if you did, you'd be left with a nearly useless gun because:
-Individual damage of these pistols has been severely nerfed to compensate. e.g., the MD24 was a six-shot kill, and is now a nine-shot kill. Since it's now dual-wielded, that translates to five trigger pulls to kill. So slightly stronger than a single pistol used to be, but with double the reload time to compensate.
-Non-dual-wield-balanced pistols are single-wield with no dual-wield option available via either killstreak or selecting a second pistol in loadout, because presumably they would be OP.
Some of this I really like, but I also miss having to make the decision between being satisfied with a single weak (but potentially useful as a backup/holdout) sidearm, or having to spend a killstreak (In the case of the LDG server) or an additional primary weapon slot (in the case of my local server) to get a pair of pistols that could compete with primaries.
There were problems with that, to be sure. MD24's could kill in one akimbo burst if you landed all six rounds. Same was true of MR-DR88's. Akimbo D49's are a three-shot instagib rifle with a hugeass reload time. Wilsons will instagib people up close with the shotguns. Some of those problems could be mitigated by changing the pistols from simultaneous to staggered fire, others like the MD-DR88's wouldn't be much affected by it. My stand-in solution for the past few months had been to put the problematic sidearms in both the sidearm slot and the KS1 slot, basically accomplishing the same thing as the LDG server's dual wield killstreak, and putting the less OP ones in both sidearm and primary slots, which seemed to work well.
I don't know, it's a complicated issue, and I'm rambling because I'm bored. Sorry about the double post.

Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
Certain pistols will still support conventional dual wield mechanics as of the last patch. The GRS-9, AM67 and Bloodhound are all given singly.

Yeah, I know. I was just out of significant balance issues to complain about. Which says really good things about the current state of things, because I'm a picky little bitch.

Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
I will say this - something must be wrong when the D49 takes as many bodyshots to kill as the M806A2.
Also, bort defaulting to dual wield is fairly annoying. Should be changed to you can still fire with only one loaded, otherwise you're always forced to sit through a double reload.
And MD24's have a tendency to lock up and refuse to function if you melee during a reload, at least until you switch away from them and then back.

Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
The M806A2 is not supported at all. Its statistics are all over the place.
I'd forgotten that modifications had been made to the BORT's dual wield to prevent it from desynchronising. Should probably be limited to single anyway.
Noted on the MD24.

Ah. Okay. Taking M806 off my radar.
